ALAN WAKE

"Remedy has billed their latest work as a psychological action thriller.  Each word in that description is dead-on.  Alan Wake messes with emotions and reality.  Alan Wake has you constantly defending your life.  Alan Wake surrounds you with suspense and tension, plot twists and cliffhangers.  Overall, Alan Wake is an experience you won't, and shouldn't, forget."

ALAN WAKE DLC - "The Signal"

"The end result ... is a brilliant twist in mechanics that re-instills the fears we had in our initial playthrough ... Thematic elements are also very strong.  Our expectations, our choices and our words are discussed not mainly by the script or Alan's inner monologue, but more so by the gameplay, which is quite an impressive feat reminiscent of BioShock."

ALIENS VS. PREDATOR

"The prospect of a good console game involving Aliens will always catch my eye ... But Rebellion decides to take the gory route, instead satiating those who revel in massacring bodies than those who want to kill Aliens for survival."

BIOSHOCK 2

"Stepping into the shoes of a different Big Daddy makes for a slightly different perspective, stronger action, and apparently tougher choices, which are this sequel's strong points."

I'm considering writing a 2nd review of BioShock 2 because after playing it through again, I like it more!  So if you read the full review, know my opinion has shifted even more positively! And I don't hate multiplayer ... as much.

FINAL FANTASY XIII

"Final Fantasy XIII is a giantly fantastic game in more ways than one, and in the first four months of 2010 has captured my attention like nothing I've played since the original BioShock or Half-Life 2 ... if I only had two words to describe Final Fantasy XIII, they would be Streamlined and Deep.  Also Awesome.  And Big.  And Satisfying.
